We will always remember Henry and our times together. The Blahs parties and getting together to speak German. He was a very interesting and talented person. If we can be of any help during this difficult time, please let us know. Sincerely, Irene and Ron

My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Setter's wife and family. He was more than a professor to me, he was a mentor. He was one of those people whose wisdom, character, and humor I cherished while I was an art student at UWG as well as afterwards. After earning my degree, I still called on him for advice which he eagerly gave. I already miss his great laugh, the wispy whistle while he worked, his animated art history lectures, and the thoughtful words of encouragement as I became an art educator. Of course, we all remember when he'd "chew us out" if we didn't listen or follow directions but somehow, I became a better artist and person because of him. He created incredible works of art, but some of his finest work, I think, was all of us...his students. He helped mold and shape us, just as he did with clay or stone. Thank you Mr. Setter. I'll always remember you and am thankful for all you did for me. Melody

Martha,I am so sorry for your loss. Henry was always so willing to share his talent with my gifted classes. I still remember the Smurf sculpture he did to show the students the process. We were all covered with blue paint before it was over. Henry was such a courtly gentleman. He will be missed.

My dear friend Martha, You know that Mark and I are holding you in our thoughts. We enjoyed our visits and Henry's wonderful sense of humor. We will miss him but he lives on in his art. I have his wonderful painting of a dove at the cabin as a reminder of his talent and senisitivity. Love, Marylu

Although literally a distant cousin whom he rarely saw, I will never forget the love Henry showed me, which was an extension of the enormous feelings he had for Martha and his children, during my visits to Carrollton. He always made me feel special and joyous, and for that he will always remain in my heart. Rest in peace Henry. Thank you for the beautiful art you brought into this world. Marianne

Martha, We are sorry for your loss, although we know you have so many wonderful memories of your years with Henry. He was a beloved professor of my children when they were at West Georgia majoring in art; Paul served on committees with Henry during his tenure at West Georgia, and he remembers Henry's insightful and helpful input. He was truly an asset wherever his influence was felt.

To Martha and the family. The world is a little less sweeter now that Mr.Setter is not with us. I went back to school in 1986 after starting a family. I have never feared or respected anyone as much as Mr.Setter. Some people are born to teach and he taught us in so many ways. His wisdom and guidance have given me a strong foundation not only in art but in religion. He guided us all and we are all better people for knowing him. My prayers and love to you all. We will miss him always.

I do miss my dear friend Henry . He taught me so much right up to the end . Even this morning as I worked on a challenging piece in my studio ... smoothing an area few people will ever see ...I could hear him saying "Do a good job , even though it's unseen ...this is for the angels ." What a precious gift he was to my life !

Henry was our cousin, but in the years after our mother died, we thought of him more as a brother. During his years in Europe, we wrote to him often. He came to Liverpool, NY from Boston to baptize our first child in 1972. He was such a talented, thoughtful man. The world was fortunate to have him for 79 years.
